Proverbs Chapter 1:8

   “Pay close attention, my child, to your father’s wise words and never forget your mother’s instructions. For their insight will bring you success, adorning you with grace-filled thoughts and giving you reins to guide your decisions.”

There is a place for parental guidance in the life of men. Parents are not just ‘Procreators’, They are “meant” to represent God as co-labourers in grooming godly seed under the lordship of Jesus

1. A wise father gives wise counsel
2. A blessed mother gives instructions

For the Parents:

We are to be intentional on how we raise the seeds God has given us and we are accountable to God in this regard but we cannot predict the but we cannot predict the outcome of their (children) decisions. We are to train them in the way of the Lord believing that His awe and fear will rest upon them enabling them to work in the way of the Lord all the days of their lives

For the Children:

We are encouraged to take heed to godly counsels from our parents, elders, mentors. Ephesians 6:1 admonishes children to obey their parent in the Lord for this is right. Our parents may not be as woke as we are but their years of experience in the dealings of life cannot be bought at a supermarket yet it can save us from years of turmoil.

The decisions we make today will determine how far we go in life. Our sojourn here is temporal and limited. It is too short to live in error
